jewel 1

Shanghai's 2004 Sinopec Grandprix marks the first F1 race in Chinese history.

Rubens Barrichello was on pole position and went on to win the race. A well deserved win for RB after so many 2nd place finishes for the year.

Michael Schumacher started from pit lane due to a qualifying spin and engine problems. His woes did not stop there and finished the race in 12th position.

Toyota had a car on display.

So did BMW Williams.

Look at T1 through T3 from the grandstand near start line.

In the background you can just about make out T6 hairpin & T7 left hander.

T8 is the large right hander at the background.

In front of the distant grandstand is the back straight. Not in picture are right hand hair pin T14, right bend T15, and sharp final left turn T16 before coming back towards the front straight. Pit lane entrance is via straight ahead of T16.
