2009 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix Abandoned after 33 laps
As fans and teams expected before, rain played spoil sport at Sepang race track on the eve of the 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix.
The awaited formula one race sees Brawn GP Formula 1 team driver, Jenson Button, emerging as winner of the Malaysian Grand Prix 2009 after the race at Sepang was aborted after 33 laps due to lashing rain.
Nick Heidfeld of the BMW Sauber takes the second spot and Timo Glock of Toyota comes third in the race after 33 laps.
However, as the race was abandoned before 75 percent of the scheduled distance, only half points will be awarded. So Jenson Button gets 5 points and Nick Heidfeld gets 4 points and Timo Glock was awarded 3 points. Everyone’s favorite Lewis Hamilton came 7th and gotten 1 point from the race.
