Hungarian F1 race resilient in crisis

The ING Hungarian Formula-1 Grand Prix is affected by the international crisis, however, not as severely as some of the other events on the calendar, said László Palik, CEO of the organizerHungaroring Sport Zrt.

For the time being, Palik declined to give a forecast regarding visitor turnout and the related revenues, nor would he speculate on whether the trend common to earlier years, namely that poorer pre-sales were improved significantly with on the spot sales would continue this year.

This year’s event in Hungary will be offered to fans at international prices, with the gold category pass costing €450 and silver €250.

Although this year’s race will take place at the end of July opposed to the earlier August date, Palik said the changes are actually better, since foreigners will probably have more to spend on recreation earlier in the vacation season. (Napi Gazdaság)
